Ngā Miro Health

Ngā Miro Health Centre opened in 1991 to bring to fruition Princess Te Puea Herangi long held dream to improve the well-being of the people.

The name Ngā Miro was gifted by Te Arikinui Te Atairangikaahu and derives from the whakatauki of the first Māori King, Pootatau Te Wherowhero:

 “Kotahi te kohao o te ngira e kuhuna ai te miro mā, te miro whero, te miro pango. A muri i ahau, kia mau ki te aroha, ki te ture me te whakapono”.

Our mission is deeply rooted in our values, promoting not just physical health but also the emotional, spiritual, and mental wellbeing of the community. We provide services such as Whānau ora,  immunisations, long-term condition management, health promotion, and more, always with the aim of fostering a healthier, stronger community.
